1870-CC Seated Liberty Half Dollar

Representing the first year of issue for the denomination from the Carson City Mint, the 1870-CC Seated Liberty Half Dollar (Buy on eBay) had a mintage of just 54,617 coins. The issue circulated heavily and very few examples have survived. Any high-end circulated coins attract attention from specialists and pieces graded AU or higher are considered rarities. Only three or four uncirculated specimens are believed to exist.

One of the finest known examples graded PCGS MS62 sold for $129,250 in 2014.
